How well do we know Diabetes?

I am sure we all know that diabetes is a metabolic disorder.

Our parents, relatives or even we suffer without really doing anything about it. Especially, when we hear it is hereditary. We never think that there may be other factors that tend to aggravate it like insulin deficiency, resistance, excess intake of carbohydrates, high BP, cholesterol, lack of exercise. All of this as well as diabetes leads to other problems in our organs like the eye, heart, kidney, nerves.

Simple treatments can help us check our diabetes like regular yoga, proper intake of fiber rich food good intake of water.

There are natural remedies that can be effective like-

1.      Boil 15 fresh Mango leaves in 1 glass of water. Leave overnight. Filter this water and drink first thing in the morning. It is an effective natural cure for diabetes.

2.      Mix 1/2 teaspoon of ground bay leaf and 1/2 teaspoon turmeric in 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel. Take this mixture two times a day before lunch and dinner. It is also good diabetes mellitus treatments.

3.      Drink a watery juice of a small Bitter Gourd (remove seeds) every morning. It is one of the best natural remedies for diabetes.

4.      Add 3-table spoon of cinnamon to 1 litre of boiling water. Simmer for 20 minutes in a low flame, and then strain the mixture. Drink this mixture daily to cure diabetes.

5.      Eat tender curry leaves (fresh) twice a day to reduce sugar.

6.      Take the juice of crushed fish-berry (amruth) soaked in water for a day first thing in the morning.

7.      Prepare a mixture by adding equal quantities of turmeric powder and dried gooseberry powder with honey or drink equal quantities of gooseberry juice and fresh turmeric juice in an empty stomach daily.

8.      Eat garlic regularly as it regulates sugar level.

9.      Dalchini ((Cinnamonum zeylancium) is also an effective herbal remedies for diabetes. Eat 1 teaspoon of cinnamon daily. Add turmeric and cinnamon to your cooking, it is very good for diabetes.

10.   Bitter melon is wonderful herb in treating diabetes mellitus.

Other remedies

  1. Yemeni med: Soak 1 teaspoon of fenugreek seeds (Hilba) in 1 cup of water at night. Drink the water in the morning on an empty stomach and eat the seeds. Very good for diabetes because it works like insulin.
  2. Take 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar 3 times a day.
  3. Some Yoga asanas – Pranayaam, kapalbhati, Jalaneti, Paschimotanasan are very effective in controlling diabetes.
  4. Reiki to pancreas also aura cleaning help remove the negativity.
  5. Su-jok therapy too has ways to stimulate the pancreas using the power mats that are magnetic in nature to produce insulin that is required for the body under supervision. Once the patient learns how to stimulate it can be done at home as well.
  6. Essential oils and diabetes (Aromatherapy)
    Although essential oils cannot claim to cure diabetes, they can be used to reduce the side effects of diabetes related ailments such as ulcers, loss of skin integrity, and skin infections. The use of essential oils can reduce inflammation, encourage cell regeneration, and eliminate infection. Some of the common essential oils that may be used are Palma Rosa, Rosemary, Juniper, Lavender, Tea-tree, and Peppermint. Essential oils can also alleviate the stress of coping with a chronic condition such as diabetes and ease the burden of living with such a debilitating disease. Aromatherapy is a known antidote for relieving stress. Some of the essential oils that can be used for reducing stress are lavender, Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood, Lemon, Bergamot, Neroli and Germanium. The only few things to keep in mind is the fact the patient should have controlled BP. Lavender may cause BP to fall even lower and so must be supervised.
